When this iconic British store contacted me, offering to send me some cookware to try from their stunning Campden collection, I was overjoyed! Not least because our saucepan collection was in desperate need of a refresh – our cheap supermarket bought pans just weren’t cutting it anymore – but also because my long-suffering husband (who graciously puts up with my constant DIY demands and home decor changes) is the head chef in number 63. He rustles up delicious pasta dishes, curries, stir-fry’s and Sunday roasts on a regular basis, and I thought it would be great for him to enjoy the benefits of using some quality pans.
Every Robert Welch product is designed in the Old Silk Mill at Chipping Campden by the Robert Welch design team. The Mill, nestled in the English Cotswold Hills, is where founder, Robert Welch, began designing in one small room, back in 1955. This well-established store is known for its superior quality kitchen, dining and home decor items, and so we waited eagerly to receive our package.
Their website describes the award-winning Campden Cookware collection as ‘having been designed to perform beyond expectation. A stylish range to complement any kitchen which is suitable for all cooking methods, including induction.’
We were immediately stunned at the beautiful aesthetic of the pans, they were very sleek, with a fantastic shine to their stainless steel finish. They were also a very good weight and felt sturdy when picking them up. They boast tri-layering technology – a thick base of copper, sandwiched between two layers of stainless steel, which ensures even heat distribution and eliminates hot spots.
We have a gas hob, and have used the pans regularly for a few weeks now. They have also been through the dishwasher, and came out looking as good as new. We love the impressive non-stick surface of the frying pan due to the ‘Excalibur’ coating – the longest lasting, and most non-stick coating there is. This pan is even classed as an ‘Independent Best Buy.’
The saucepans are deep, and are suitable for cooking anything from baked beans, to homemade soup, to pasta and vegetables by adding the steamer insert to one of the pans. The handles stay cool, and the lids are good quality and well-fitting.
These saucepans exceeded our expectations, and since Robert Welch have a 20% off promotion on this range until the end of the month, we can easily add to what we have (we have our eyes on the casserole pot and the non-stick milk pan!)
You can use this link to buy your own, or perhaps treat an avid cook to some this Christmas!
Until next time,
This review is part of a paid collaboration with Robert Welch, however all opinions are my own, and I only work with brands I truly recommend.
